Merch AI Mobile App

  • Shashwat Dubey

Designing merchandise takes time and effort, especially for non-designers. Merch AI simplifies this by using a guided questionnaire to quickly generate ready-to-use designs.

Notes & next steps

Future plans include adding more customization options, enabling manual design tweaks, and allowing users to directly order products from the app.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Flutter SDK (stable channel)
  • Dart SDK compatible with ^3.10.7
  • Android Studio / Xcode (depending on your target platform)

1) Install dependencies

flutter pub get

2) Configure environment values

Create/update environment config files under assets/env/ (for API keys/endpoints used by generation requests).

3) Run the app

flutter run

To run on a specific device:

flutter devices
flutter run -d <device_id>

Build

Android APK

flutter build apk --release

Android App Bundle

flutter build appbundle --release

iOS (macOS only)

flutter build ios --release

How It Works

  1. Home screen starts the merch creation flow.
  2. Questionnaire collects user inputs: category, product, logo, tagline, placement, color, and style.
  3. Provider state (MerchProvider) tracks progress, selections, and generation lifecycle.
  4. Generation step sends the assembled request payload to the backend/AI service.
  5. Results page displays generated images in a carousel (front/back/lifestyle style views).
  6. Save/order action lets users persist the currently selected design image locally.
